Lesson Policy

>Drop In Lessons & Sampler Packs
– Cancellation of a lesson must be made AT LEAST 24 hours prior to the scheduled lesson time in order to receive a make-up lesson. This includes leaving messages on the answering machine or eMail.
– No shows or failure to notify the school/teacher within 24 hours is considered a forfeited lesson.
– There are NO refunds on unused or cancelled lessons.
– Any lessons cancelled at least 24 hours ahead will receive a make-up lesson at a time convenient to both the teacher and the student.
– Should you choose to take a break, unused lessons can be banked for you for a period of 3 months. Unused lessons after that time will be considered forfeited unless arrangements have been made otherwise.
– A make-up lesson can be booked with your teacher directly or the school administration.

 

>Monthly Program
– Cancellations are allowed to a maximum of one time per month. Additional Cancellations will be considered a forfeited lesson.
– Cancellation of a lesson must be made AT LEAST 24 hours prior to the scheduled lesson time in order to receive a make-up lesson (for definition of a make-up lesson, please see below). This includes leaving messages on the answering machine or eMail.
– No shows or failure to notify the school/teacher within 24 hours is considered a forfeited lesson.
– There are NO refunds on unused or cancelled lessons.
– Any lessons cancelled at least 24 hours ahead will receive a make-up lesson at a time convenient to both the teacher and the student. This makeup lesson will not be skipped over or added to the end of the set of a lesson program.
– Typically, make-up lessons take place at an alternate time/day within the week. In some cases, the make-up lesson will be added after/before the original lesson time, enabling the student to have a longer lesson.
– If you know of dates ahead of time where you/your child cannot make a lesson, please notify the school when booking/paying for your lessons.
– Make-up lessons not used 30 days after the end of the monthly program will be considered forfeited
– If your teacher cancels a lesson, we will skip over that week and resume the following week. All payments will be pushed forward to compensate for the missed lesson.
– Should you choose to take a break, unused lessons can be banked for you for a period of 3 months. Unused lessons after that time will be considered forfeited unless arrangements have been made otherwise.

>Semester/Term Programs (3 Month Semester Program)
– Cancellations are allowed to a maximum of one time per month (maximum 3 times a semester). Additional Cancellations will be considered a forfeited lesson.
– Cancellation of a lesson must be made AT LEAST 24 hours prior to the scheduled lesson time in order to receive a make-up lesson. This includes leaving messages on the answering machine or eMail.
– No shows or failure to notify the school/teacher within 24 hours is considered a forfeited lesson.
– There are NO refunds on unused or cancelled lessons.

>ANNUAL PROGRAMS

-Student cancellations will not be refunded, however up to 1 hour of lessons per quarter will be rescheduled at a predetermined make-up lesson time. Cancellation must be made 10 days in advance by email or phone.
-Teacher cancellations will be rescheduled, or a suitable substitute teacher will be provided.
-Lesson fees do not include the cost of an accompanist for recitals, festivals and other performance opportunities.
-All borrowed materials must be returned by the following lesson or student may be charged a replacement fee.
-Security deposits are non-refundable unless programs are cancelled.
-Post-dated payments must be arranged for the full teaching year. We ask for 1 calendar month notice of early cancellation. Early cancellation will result in a penalty fee of 1 month’s payment. All deposits are non-refundable.
-Students are responsible for the cost of materials and accompaniment fees for performances, exams and adjudications.

 

>Gift Certificates
– Unused Gift Certificates are valid for one year (365 days) from the date of purchase.
– Upon redeeming your gift certificate, should you choose to take a break, unused lessons can be banked for you for a period of 3 months. Unused lessons after that time will be considered forfeited unless arrangements have been made otherwise.

>Payments
– For purchases less than $1000, Payments can be made via Visa, Mastercard, or E-Transfer.
– For purchases over $1000, Payments can be made via Cheque, Visa, Mastercard, or E-Transfer or Cash. Cheques should be made out to “Organic Music Lessons”.
– For convenience, we can keep your credit card number on our secure server and run the lesson fees when they come due.
– All lesson fees are due in advance of your first lesson. Should you continue with your lesson program, all fees are due on the last session of your program.
– If payment is not made by the last session of your program, your lesson time will be opened up for other students.
– There are NO REFUNDS on unused or cancelled lesson.
>Holidays / School Breaks

Exceptions will be made with respect to School breaks, Christmas, March Break, Religious and Statutory Holidays. Those weeks will be skipped over during the lesson programs unless arrangements have been made otherwise. Please advise your teacher as soon as you know you will have to miss a lesson due to these previously mentioned breaks.

 

>Indemnity
Upon purchase of lessons from Organic Music, students agree to indemnify instructor(s) and Organic Music Lessons for any injuries, illnesses, or expenses from their participation, especially if they have neglected to disclose a known medical condition or similar information that might affect my ability to participate in the music lesson program. This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement of the parties and supersedes any and all previous understanding, agreements, arrangements, or discussions, written or oral, between the Parties relating of Organic Music Lessons and students. There are no collateral agreements, representations or guarantees, oral or otherwise unless written on this page or as an agreement signed by both Parties that qualifies as valid per the Organic Music lesson policy.
